We love our Northern Lights Cedar Hot Tub! We've had our tub going steady for about 1-1/2 years and nothing stops us from using it every day. All our visitors who soak remind us that it's the best soaking tub in the city. Thank You for a wonderful tubbing experience!

Cedar Hot Tubs

Soaking Tubs "For centuries people from all cultures enjoyed the relaxing pleasures and therapeutic benefits of soaking in hottubs. As early as the Romans we see evidence of its recreational popularity and hear of the healing effects of soaking in warm water.

The age old tradition of wooden barrel making (cooperage), stemming back thousands of years, has long been used to hold liquid including wines and spirits. Cedar and Oak were popular material due to their natural resilience to decay and their expansive properties when soaked. These techniques lead to early development of hottubs.

In the 70s' a new revolution called "plastics" took over and for a time all that was wooden was forgotten. The phrase "spa" and "hot tub" became interchangeable. However, as time went on people began to realize that plastic could never properly imitate the appearance and properties of wood. And so it is, wood has regained its popularity and the age-old tradition of 'hot tubbing' lives on"

Northern Lights Cedar Tubs is the world leader in manufacturing custom wooden hottubs and traditional soaking tubs.  We combine the age-old tradition of cooperage (barrel making) with modern manufacturing technologies to produce the finest cedar hot tubs and Japanese style soaking tubs (Ofuros).

All of our hotubs are made using only the top grade of Clear Western Red Cedar. Resilience to decay has long been Cedars' forte. Its aromatic scent is very pleasant and soothing. It's fibrous structure makes it the ideal wood for water tightness, as well as giving it one of the highest insulating values of most common wood.  This is why cedar is the wood of choice for outdoor hot tubs.

We take the time-tested art of barrel making to extreme accuracies including Computer Aided Milling and Computer Aided Design. Working within strict tolerances, our state of the art Laser Guided Milling guarantees 100% accuracies. Our hot tub Quality Inspection Program, results in a finished product that exceeds ours' and our customers' high standards.  This attention to quality is why our hot  tubs can be found in some of the most prestigious Spas & Resorts around the world (see some of our hottub awards and commercial projects)

Northern Light's Cedar Tubs use the latest in modern spa technology (see our tub product specifications) including powerful 2-stage pumps, digital spa packs, LED top side controllers, micro-filter systems, and hydro therapy jets (See Electric System)  We also offer a variety of complimenting cedar accessories such as stairs and shelves.  Our hottubs are available with ozonators and mineral ionizer systems for a natural alternative to traditional usage of harsh chemicals in spas.

We offer many different styles and sizes, from our Classic round hot tubs to our Japanese inspired Ofuro soaking tubs.   Hot tub sizes range from large 10 person party hot tubs to smaller 1 or 2 person hottubs.

We offer 4 different heating systems for our hot tubs including electric, gas, propane and wood fired hot tub versions.  Our Eco-friendly  Chofu Wood Fired Heating Systems use no electricity and are great for cottage hottubs or our smaller Ofuro soaking hot tub.  Our unique Gas Hybrid tm Heating system combines our 100,000 BTU ultra-efficient  gas/propane heater  with our electric spa pack to give the flexibility of both gas or electric heating choices (or both), all controlled by  the most advance digital controllers in the market.hottub guarantee

Often overlooked when buying a spa or hottub is the support and aftermarket customer service that is provided.  The success of our company is largely due to the individual care we give to our customers.    Our hot tub Design Engineer works with each and every customer no matter how big or small the project  is to ensure ultimate satisfaction.  Just see what our customers have to say!

What makes a cedar hot tub stand out, compared to other "spas", is the ambience and aromatherapy that can only come from a natural wooden cedar tub. Our classic wooden tubs are almost 44" deep (48" high), which provides a unique buoyancy or floating effect. Combined with our powerful hydro therapy jet sytems and the smell of Western Red Cedar, we think you'll agree that the experience and pleasure of our wooden tubs is hard to beat!
